This card is from an original acrylic painting I did titled "Daffodil Neko."
Most of my cards come with a small story, written at the time the original artwork is created. This is printed on the backs of the cards, along with the title of the piece and date it was created. They are hand signed "DS Irvin" which is how I sign my original prints and artwork and are hand numbered. This is #4 and is an open edition. The story for this artwork reads: "This Calico Maneki Neko with his paw raised for the best of good luck is holding his daffodil bouquet. The daffodil is associated with rebirth, new beginnings, unrequited love, chivalry, the 10th wedding anniversary, and is the birth flower for March. Calico Maneki Nekos are said to be the luckiest of all the various lucky cat colors."
This ACEO (which stands for Art Cards, Editions & Originals) measures the standard 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" and is laminated. I choose to laminate cards which are prints and don't include any hand enhancing or painting as it makes them far more durable, increasing their longevity, and enriches the colors.
This card was printed with a color laser printer on acid free cover stock. The ghosted watermark does not appear on the actual print.
